Soccer & iPoded Successful

Fairly normal working day today, so not much to blog about today.

Yesterday (Sunday) I enjoyed a lot. We had an early game of indoor soccer at 10:40am, and we won the game 4-1. I played generally very poor, even though I did get the last goal. I just kept kicking the ball high (which in indoor gives the opposition a free kick) the whole game.

After that we went to Rolando's place to have another attempt at copying the files from his old computer to his new one after the failed attempt last week. The Win98 iPod drivers … Read more →

I'm truly starting to learn and appreciate the value of the all important Friday. The gateway to rest and freedom, this is the best day of the working week. I have truly been busy, quite the opposite of what Andrew is going through of late.

Got a busy weekend ahead as well, with important things starting to be planned.

I've planned to do an new intro for the site, having recently negotiated an exciting original concept with the site's media and content director (Despina). lol. But seriously, I'm not sure when I'll be able to get the time to … Read more →

Sinus Bad & Tired

On Monday when I went to work I started to get a pain around my top-right teeth. Over the first two hours of the day this quickly developed to what I thought at the time was a migraine. My entire right side of my face felt like it was going to explode. My gums were sore, behind my eyes were throbbing, and overall I would have to rate it as one of the worst 'headaches' that I've ever had.

I had taken some paracetamol in the first half hour when my head was starting to get sore, but this had … Read more →

The Weekend that was

Wrapping up a fairly busy weekend with this blog entry. On Saturday I did some stuff and then at night we went to Church and ran out as soon as it finished to go to a 21st birthday party that started at 6:30, as Church had finished just after 7:30.

Went to the party, and after we ate etc, they asked everyone to look under their seats and see if they could find anything, and those with something under there had won something. I looked under mine, and nothing, and because there was a spare seat next to me I … Read more →

Working

Not much to blog about in the last few fays other than working, which is not really that great of a blogable subject unless something really exciting happens, which it hasn't.

Have been playing UT2004 a little bit in the small amount of spare time I do have. It's a really great game, especially the onslaught matches. You can really see the difference in the gameplay between a game like SW Battlefront and UT2004.

It was also sad to see that Jerry Orbach, who played Det. Lennie Briscoe on Law and Order (one of my favourite shows), died recently of … Read more →

Back to work & please donate

I'm mostly over the cold that I had for New years, but unsurprisingly, now Despina has it.

Went back to work today, and had a largely frustrating day, due to some strange things with html that I won't go into here.

Over the break, other than being sick, i also got into some games. Not only did i continue playing Star Wars: Battlefront, yesterday also bought the semi-old Unreal Tournament 2004 which is a great game. I haven't had that much time to play it yet though.

As most have followed on the news the tsunamis in south Asia … Read more →

Sick New Year!

Unfortunately, from New Years Eve until today I have been sick with a stupid cold-like something. Needless to say I could have had a better new years, but what can you do. For New Year's eve we went to my Aunty's place at Highgate Hill which was a pretty good vantage point to see the fireworks, which were pretty good.

For New Year's day itself, it was mostly spent lying down, resting, and drinking plenty of water.

That meant that I was unable to attend Church that evening last night, and consequently I probably contributed to the lack of people … Read more →

Credit & Homestar Stuff

I was asked to stay back at work (supermarket) last night, so I did, working from 3-10pm. Washed both cars today.

After I got back from Melbourne earlier this month I applied for a credit card. Although I have to apparent need for a credit card right now, I have been advised that it would be beneficial to get one in order to gain a good credit rating. I tried to get a phone from Optus on a cheap contract ($30/month) 2 years ago and was rejected because apparently I didn't have a good rating. That wasn't to say I … Read more →

Levels of Stress, Tsunamis, & Geography

I did my first shift at the supermarket today and I came to the surprising realisation that I am actually considerably more stressed working at the supermarket than working at the office.

Today's shift had the usual angry/dissatisfied/annoyed/impatient/anything-else-you-want customers, plus two packet breakages, one involving glass. During all this I though how much less stressful it is working at the office. Before today I would have expected the opposite. I would probably put it down to the more relaxed (if you can put it that way) atmosphere of the office, compared to the highly charged, high-conflict atmosphere of the supermarket… Read more →
