In the past few days, i signed up to a Facebook account. I've heard good things from some of the IT people that I know and blogs that I follow, and probably the best compliment that I keep hearing is that it doesn't suck anywhere near as much as MySpace.

I've been very busy the past few days. Last week we ordered a few First Aid kits from St. John Ambulance, one for home and one for the car, which were delivered to work on Friday.

Very coincidentally, driving on the way home from work that day we witnessed a pretty bad head-on collision between two cars on a notorious corner on a main road going into the city. In the last week or so, i've added a few more goodies to Trogdor (the computer I built recently). These are the last upgrades/additions that I've got planned for the thing, at least for the short to medium-term future.

I added another 2GB of RAM to the thing to bring it up to a total of 4GB (totally overkill, but the prices of RAM will only go up from here-on-out, so better to get it now than later), and also added a 500GB Western Digital Hard Disk to serve as my main storage drive.

Last week at work was a tough one. The new IT Manager was unfortunately very ill, so I was left to man the fort alone. Added to that me having to try and deal with absolutely incompetent web designers who can't even program PHP with the register_globals setting being off (which has been a default PHP setting for 5 years!!), meant that I did not have a overly pleasant week last week.

We started off the weekend by going to see Transformers on Friday night. I've got to say that I really enjoyed this movie, it's easily the best movie i've seen all year.

Especially after the disappointments of other anticipated blockbusters like Pirates 3, this movie was such a breath of fresh air. In my opinion, it was an almost perfect balance of comedy and action, and probably most important of all, despite the expectation placed upon it the movie did not take itself too seriously.

Adding to my woes from the previous entry, the day after that (Wednesday) i woke-up not feeling too good at all. I decided there was no way that I was going to work, and as the day progressed, boy was I glad with that decision.

Although i would have liked to, i haven't had a very nice weekend or a past few days.

The big news for Arsenal fans over the weekend is that the captain and all-time leading goal-scorer, Thierry Henry, left the club to join Barcelona. This stinks, mainly because of the following quote from barely a year ago when signing a new contract with Arsenal:

The day after i got Mario Strikers Charged Football for the Wii, Command & Conquer 3 that I ordered a bit ago also arrived.

I've barely had time to play either in the past week, but I did manage to get past the first stage of C&C3, and also play a few games of Mario Strikers. Both seem to be really good games, so i can't wait to actually get some time to play them properly.

Once again, apologies for another lame Wii-related title; 6 months on and i still can't help myself ;).

Today I bought Mario Strikers Charged Football for the Wii for a very cheap (by Australian standards) $69 from JB-HiFi. Other than it being a pretty cool and fun football game for the Wii, it also has the distinction of being the very first online game on the console.
