Day 14 of NaBloPoMo

Watch that calendar on the left fill up with 'this-day-has-an entry' colour. Comparing it to previous months, it is quite an amazing and different sight.

As you can probably tell, I haven't got that much to blog today. Today at work was particularly busy: it somehow managed to out-do Monday on the busyness scale, which is always impressive. Thus today was more about rushing to do stuff rather than noticing stuff that could be blogable.

Day 13 of NaBloPoMo

Man, if I thought that I was sore yesterday, than today was another thing altogether.

Starting at last night: right after writing last night's blog entry, I went off to play the first game of the new indoor season. It was one of those really weird games, a game that was truly a tale of two very differing halves.

Day 12 of NaBloPoMo

Last night after Church a lot of our usual Saturday night 'after church' group went (via Hungry Jacks) to an video arcade at Garden City where we could play unlimited games for two hours for $15 each.

The highlight of the games (at least for me) were very competitive air hockey matches. I played almost everybody last night and beat all of them at least once.

Still undefeated after about 8 or 9 matches, and just after vanquishing Andrew for the second time in the night, he managed managed to talk me into a final rematch. … Read more →

Day 11 of NaBloPoMo

For some reason i'm not feeling too flash today. It could be that I may be coming down with something, or it could have something to do with the KFC i ate for dinner last night. Either way i'm not feeling that good.

Day 10 of NaBloPoMo

Not quite sure of what to blog about tonight, nothing really much has happened today. The only notable thing is that I'm by myself in the IT department whilst my co-worker goes on leave today and next week. The result is very busy days, as i'm handling the work of two people.

Day 9 of NaBloPoMo

The big geek news of today is that the next version of Microsoft's Windows operating system, Vista, has gone RTM (Release To Manufacturing). This basically means that Microsoft has signed off on the final version of the operating system and that it now gets sent out to manufacture (DVDs produced and distributed, as well as sent to the PC builders, etc.).

This means that Vista will be released to business on November 30, and to the general public sometime late January (most analysts say January 30).

Day 8 of NaBloPoMo

I finally received my sunglasses that I ordered last week after the shenanigans of the past few days. Below are some photos of the old and new sunglasses next to each other (old on the left, new on the right).

Despite looking almost exactly alike, there are differences between the old and new ones that had me a little concerned. Firstly the frames in the new ones seem to be just a tad thicker than the old ones, and the colour is noticeably different. Day 7 of NaBloPoMo

I am buggered and the last thing I feel like doing right now is a blog entry, but I will live up to my NaBloPoMo duties. We just got home from dinner with the parents, which included over an hour of IT support duties, mainly related to an iPod not wanting to play AVIs and Canon digital cameras being a pain.

Today was a largely uneventful day, this morning I posted the incorrect sunglasses away, and hopefully tomorrow but probably Thursday I will receive the correct ones, hopefully in good condition.

Why are Mondays always bad? A few quite bloggable things made today another frustrating start to the working week.

I was looking forward to today though, because i was expecting my sunglasses that I had ordered last week to be delivered to me at work. At about 10am a package came for me, and as I opened it with glee (deliveries always get me excited), to my horror I discover that they have shipped me the wrong sunglasses.

Yesterday we've had something that we've hadn't had for a while: a good day of rain, and fortunately a good portion of it fell in the catchment areas for the dams.
