Yesterday we had the all important COMP3804 exam. The entertainment just keeps on coming with this course.
(All prepare for another bitch and moan about COMP3804!!).

Firstly, the exam was due to start at 2:30pm. They finally let us into the exam room at 2:50 for us to start the exam just after 3. Thats over half an hour (and a quarter of the exam) late.

And they are lecturing us about time management?? I felt sorry for the poor students that might have had another exam barely 20mins after they stepped out of this one.

Secondly, which doubly pissed … Read more →

Today should have been the first day of the exam block, but instead it had to be the Queen's Birthday public holiday. My first exam is the dreaded COMP3804 tomorrow.

The Euro 2004 football tournament of course kicked off on the weekend, and last night was the first blockbuster match: France vs. England. Well the pommy's thought that on 90mins that they had won the game 1-0, an ealier missed David Beckham penalty now seemed irrelevant. With only 2 mins of stoppage time to play, France punch in 2 goals both by Zinedine Zidane (in my opinion the best player … Read more →

Last night Despina and I went to the drive-in! If you aren't aware, the only drive-in in all of south-east Queensland is the one at Yatala (half way down to the Gold Coast). WE drove down there last night, and after having dinner at the McDonald's at the 'Service Centre' at Yatala (The really huge BP), we went to the drive-in to see a double screening of The Day After Tomorrow (which should be Monday. lol I'm so lame) and Stuck On You. The movies for the both of us were $11 all up because we used a voucher … Read more →

In the last few days i have begun studying for my exams.

After finishing off my last assignment on the weekend, Monday was mainly spent on collecting and printing a lot of garbage just to make sure i have everything i need to actually study (lecture notes, tuts, etc.). That took the majority of the day which was longer than i expected.

Today i began proper study on COMP3804. The more study i seem to do, the more i am not looking forward to the exam. I guess it's mainly because i have nearly no idea what to expect. Hopefully … Read more →

This week was the last teaching week for Semester 1 2004. I really can't believe how fast it has gone. I think it was mainly the project that made it feal like just one big blur of a semester. Next week is of course SWOTVAC (as a side note i can't remember what that actually stands for...), and i still have one more assignment to hand in, which is the INFS3100 Assignment 4, which is on, ironically enough, designing a system of classification for my university assignments.

Of course i'm the middle of doing that right now, and thanks to … Read more →

Today was the dd-day (due date) for all the COMP3804 garbage due this semester (except for the exam). We got everything in ok (i think i got off easy yesterday/lastnight because i had to work till 10 last night, which i am a bit guilty about), and i think the demonstration went fine (although there was a nervous 30 or so seconds when the program wasn't responding probably because of lots of stress on the oracle server at uni at the time). The program itself is coming along quite nicely!

Now i've only got the INFS3100 assignment 4 to go … Read more →

Yesterday's Monday actually wasn't that bad. The reasons being that it was the last one I will have to go to this semester (yay!! no more 10-6!), and i recieved some pretty favourable assessment results.

First of all, I got 18.5/20 for my INFS3100 Assignment 3 (the one on classification systems where we had to go to 2 supermarkets and record shelf layouts and infer a system of classification). The tutor hands out prizes for the best assignments, and because of the poor lecture attendance all the people that got higher than me weren't present, so i got their prizes … Read more →

My group's COMP3804 demonstration is this coming week (along with everything else that is due). We had signed up to a demonstration time over 3 weeks ago, and yesterday the lecturer apparently called and said they've got a class on at that time and would we like to do it way earlier in the day or way later? And these are the people lecturing us on project and time management?

Even worse, for the exam we have coming up for the same subject, they expect us to do well after only giving us one tutorial question for each topic, and … Read more →

Before i start this entry, i'm not really sure on the correct spelling of 'jibbed', because i've never had to actually write ot type it out. so if anyone knows if this is incorrect, you can enlighten all of us by posting a comment with the correct spelling.

Back to the point, If you recall me last entry, i purchased the Futurama season 3 box set over the net for what i thought was a very cheap $40 (which is around half of the normal retail price). As it turns out, my parents went into the city (on another one … Read more →

On Wednesday i purchased my first (physical) products over the internet. I say physical because my first ever internet transaction was buying the hosting plan that this website is on!

'What the heck did i buy?' I hear you ask? I bought the Futurama Season 3 box set for a very cheap $40 from ezyDVD.com.au which included free delivery. I should be getting them pretty soon, and i can't wait to watch them (when I have some time).

On other notes, Mark and Lloyd are leaving for the mines soon, so I wish them a public 'good luck!', and i … Read more →
