Well we are only 2 and bit weeks to the end of the teaching semester. I've completed most of my assessment due before the exams start with the exception of all the COMP3804 crap, the big INFS3100 assignment and my HIST2100 tutorial essay. Gee, actually looking at that list it still looks like i've got a fair bit of stuff to get through...

Anywho, i got my HIST2100 (History of China) essay back yesterday. I got 28/35 (80%) for it which i am extremely happy with. I've just posted it in the Gallery for anyone to see. Again, if anyone … Read more →

Here's my first controversial 'essay' that i promised earlier.

I'm sure many people who know me have heard this all before, but now i get the opportunity to publish it to the world!!

The topic: How calling calling Rugby League, Rugby Union, Australian Rules, 'football' is totally illogical (or insane, stupid, dumb, etc), while calling the true football 'soccer'.

How did they come to be called football in the first place, when it is obvious that in all the above games, the ball is primarily manipulated with the hands?? I call everyone to stop the insanity of calling these (in … Read more →

Okay, for some reason my last entry had 82 views (at this time) which has rocketed it up to number one on the most viewed list. Did a lot of people view my blog, or has one person just had a lot of fun with the refresh button on their browser?? The mysteries of the internet....

Things with uni have sort of cooled off a bit lately, with not much (relatively speaking) due until the last week where everything seems to be due.

Played soccer last night, and I think we had a really good game. We ended up losing … Read more →

I am greatly dreading having to resume a normal Monday tomorrow. Why? Why?!!!!

Ah well. Got my exam timetable now, i have exams on the 15th, 16th, and 22nd of June. I am very happy with it as it splits my two most important exams by a week (COMP3804 on the 15th, and HIST2702 on the 22nd).

today also is, of course, Mother's Day. Although i'm pretty sure Mum does not read this, i'll still wish her a happy Mother's Day. … Read more →

Tonight after i finish work at 10pm, i am submitting all of my groups deliverables for COMP3804 for this week. During a little spare time that I have had today, i have published one of my history essays that i just had marked. See the Gallery. The one i got back was the HIST2702 Thematic essay on public executions at Tyburn. I got 16.5/20, which i am happy with. Any (polite) views on my essay can be posted here if you want.… Read more →

So ends the last monday that i will have off this semester. Although i have not totally enjoyed these past two Mondays as I have had group meetings on both of them, it still was a welcome alternative to my usual Monday schedule.

COMP3804 is steaming ahead with with the partial Software Requirements Specification and the Conceptual Design due in this week. I've also got my Sun Yat-sen essay due on Friday which i have to finish off. Needless to say, things are hectic.

On another note, the weather lately has really cooled down, which i am absolutely loving (because … Read more →

After seeing Kill Bill vol.1 last week on dvd, last night me and Despina went and saw vol.2. I read a few reviews in the paper on it, all of which gave it 5 stars. My opinion: good, but not great... I dunno i liked the movie, but it wasn't fantastic to be raving about it. Typical Tarantino stuff, in my opinion nothing really special. I did really like the old Chinese dude in it and the way he kept on flicking his beard.

It's hard to believe that we have just entered May. Uni is keeping me way too … Read more →

Well it seems that i am sick again. I won't go into the details, but i won't be going to uni for my normal lectures and tutes today, but i will have to go in later today for a group meeting.

I had a pretty good weekend. Other than writing most of my tutorial essay on Chiang Kai-shek, i did some COMP3804 work. I watched a few movies. I saw The Last Emperor, which was a fantatic movie. It totally deserved the best picture oscar that it got. The other one was Kill Bill vol.1, which i found … Read more →

Things with uni are back into full swing. The group assignment is steaming ahead, and i'm just about to start my short tutorial essay for The history of china course. This essay on on the successes and failures of Chiank Kaishek's leadership, and is only 1000wds plus a ten minute presentation i've got to do later in the semester.

I got my final marks for stage 1 of the year-long IT project (there are 4 stages overall), and i got 4.28/5. In reflecting on this stage, i have come to the conclusion that it was a colossal waste of time … Read more →

Yesterday was probably the worst Monday i've had this semester. Well, they've all been bad, but yesterday just seemed to drain it all out of me. Other than my usual 10-6 uni monday with only one hour break in the middle, i had my usual Greek lessons from 7-9 as well. I thought at the end of uni was a bonus: my lecture finished at 5:30, so i thought i could go and squeeze in a quick dinner with Despina. Well it sure was quick, becuase it took me an hour to drive from uni to West End, the traffic … Read more →
