Today begins my study for my exams. Yesterday I mainly planned out what I'm going to do over the next two weeks and where. After doing a little bit of study this morning, i decided to take a break.

A few days ago Lucasfilm released the teaser poster for Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (shown below).

In my opinion the teaser poster isn't that great. The ones from Episode I and Episode II were much better.

It seems that the teaser trailer as well is going to be released in the next week or so. Exciting stuff … Read more →

Yesterday I worked from 10-3, and after that came home did some stuff and then got ready and went to Church. As soon as the service finished, we ran out of there to go to Rhys's 21st Birthday. Before we went there we picked up Wil from his place, got a quick bite from maccas (ironic because he is quitting his job at maccas. Congrats to him!), and then got to the party at around 8:30ish.

The party was good, it was great to see some guys from school that I haven't really seen since school finished. Photos are in … Read more →

Yes, today was the last day of the project. Today was the post-implementation review, which was pretty much as the name describes it. So the year-long course is over, and I must now say at the end that it was a valuable experience. In the end, it was quite sad and a bit weird that i will not be seeing my group on a regular basis, i've felt that especially over the second semester we have really built up a team and worked really well together.

So here is my quick review of the course:

The first semester was definitely … Read more →

Just realised that I have blogged on each of the past 6 days. It's been a while since i've been so prolific blogging, so I thought i would make it a round 7 by doing another entry today, although I do not have much to talk about.

It seems that I am in holiday mode already (hence the extra time to do a lot of blog entries). This is the usual case with uni, as after i finish my last assignment I tend to slack off before exams. My excuse this time is that i've deserved a little time off … Read more →

This is the last teaching week of the 2004 Academic year, and for many of my friends they are having their last lectures ever this week as many of them graduate after this semester.

I'm going to have to endure another semester of uni next year: after this semester (assuming I pass everything) I only have three courses left, one IT course and two history ones.

Still not sure which ones I'm going to pick, I usually wait until around mid-January to choose me courses for 1st semester.

I'm going have to start looking and applying for some IT work … Read more →

AS it is usual around this type of year, a few things are guaranteed for me: increasingly hot weather, exams for uni, and plenty of sports with the English Premier League, UEFA Champions League, and Baseball World Series all being played out live on TV.

Last night I stayed up till 1am to watch the big game: my Arsenal vs. Manchester United. Unfortunately United won the game, and ended Arsenal's unbeaten run of 49 games that spanned 3 seasons.

To be brutally honest, i don't mind Arsenal losing to Man U, they are respectable opponents. But I did mind the … Read more →

Buggery it's hot. I really do not like this heat.

Last night at Church a different liturgy was done instead of the normal Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom. Because of the feast day of St. James, last night the Divine Liturgy of St. James was performed. It was quite an interesting experience. Although in some parts similar, this liturgy was quite different to the normal liturgy.

For starters the priests and the altar boys are all outside of the altar, and continuously face the congregation, and it is just a little bit longer than the normal liturgy. The Body … Read more →

Caught the CityCat to uni today. One the way back did the usual run to catch the CityCat before it left the uni stop. On the way back i managed to catch the single new-and-very-big-and-shiny CityCat. This one is so much larger than the vessels in the existing fleet, and has a big plasma screen with tourist info, ads, and other information on Brisbane and BCC propaganda. At least it gave me something to watch in the hour-or-so it takes me to get home on it.

At uni this morning was the second and final COMP3804 presentation (last week was … Read more →

In the last week or so it seems that Hotmail have finally upgraded their size of their accounts. Formally a tiny 3MB account storage and 1MB attachments, they have upgraded all accounts to have 250MB of storage and allow 10MB attachments.

Did Microsoft finally do this out of the kindness of their hearts? I don't think so. AS with a lot of other Microsoft 'innovations' and changes, this one is probably a response to a big rival stepping onto their turf. Google's much-anticipated entrance to the free webmail market, GMail, is very soon approaching. Still a BETA (i.e. pre-release) … Read more →
