The thoughts, opinions, happenings, and just plain ramblings of a seemingly boring person.

Exam and Presanctified

I still feel very tired, even after sleeping in till 9 this morning. I guess I've had a even busier than normal busy over the past few days.

Since my last post, on Tuesday night we went to the talk on the series about An Introduction to Orthodoxy. This week was on Baptism, Marriage, and Death, and really an explanation of all the services associated with each. I was particularly looking forward to this week, for the marriage thing is highly relevant to me and Despina at the current time.

Disappointingly, there wasn't enough time to cover marriage, and will … Read more →

Altar Boy and Futsal Returns

Lots and lots to blog over the past few days, but where do I begin??

Okay, since my last post, on Friday i did in fact type out all of my history essay, but it took much longer than I had expected it to, in fact most of the day. I had wanted to start studying for my COMP3501 (HCI) exam that I have on Wednesday but that didn't really happen.

Friday night was the Akathist hymn, which was good because I had the book and could easily follow along.

Saturday I tried to study for the exam, but was … Read more →

Gearing up the fingers

I'm typing this blog entry mainly to 'warm-up' my fingers to type my 2000wd essay that i'm going to do right after I finish this entry, because otherwise, i don't really have the time to type an entry.

Funny thing happened just a few moments ago: my yiayia (grandmother) just walked into my room and saw all the clothes that are lying everywhere that I haven't been bothered to put away. After the usual chiding on the state of my room and my treatment of the clothes, she remarks something along the lines of: "When you're married Despina won't put … Read more →

The Essay Slayed & Pontiff Passes

Finished my war of attrition for this essay, having just finished writing it tonight. I didn't really expect to finish it today, but after i got back from soccer i was just on a roll and wrote the last 500 words relatively quickly, references and all.

Speaking of soccer today: the trials for the new season continued, with us playing a team called The Squirrels, which actually contains one of Nick's uni lecturers. It was a very tight game, which was very defensive. It was 0-0 after half time, and i broke the deadlock and scored with about 6 or … Read more →

Star Wars Tickets! & War of Attrition

Yesterday I got the tickets for the midnight screening of Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith!!. I was going to be an uber-geek and actually scan it in and put it up on entry, but i didn't really have the time, and it would be a bit much.

I'm really getting psyched about going to see it.

I'm about 2/3ds of the way through writing the essay. Yesterday I wrote a lot: I did a lot more than I expected to get done, but a bit less than I'd hoped. I hope to have the majority of … Read more →

Very stupid

Returned to my stupid ways today. I had planned to go into uni, which first of all is bad karma (for lack of a better expression) on holidays, to get books from the library for the essay i'm currently doing. I had the list of the books I wanted to get and even checked it up against the uni catalogue this morning before i left just to make sure they were all still there. The problem is, is that I left that list sitting on my desk next to the computer.

Of course when I had arrived at uni i … Read more →

Save Toby & The Sphere O’ Fear

In the past week I stumbled upon a hilarious but also disturbing website: SaveToby.com.

This site is about a guy who is threatening to eat is adorable little pet bunny Toby, unless he receives USD$50,000 in donations or the purchase of merchandise by the 30th of June. Quite funny, and he has actually raised almost $20,000 already.

In this past Aussie Easter Holiday weekend, I have started researching my HIST2602 (Empires) essay. I have chosen the topic: How useful is the term 'imperial overreach' in Paul Kennedy's Rise and Fall of the Great Powers? Discuss in relation to … Read more →

Assessment, Clone Wars, and Evil Lucas

This week was a little busy in terms of uni assessment. Had two things due: my HIST2609 short essay (which i will post in the Gallery once I get my marks back), and also a HIST2602 Tutorial Submission (I have to do three throughout the semester). Eventually got it all done, and handed them both in on time.

In this past week the third and final season of the Star Wars: Clone Wars cartoons have been airing on Cartoon Network in the US. I've downloaded all but the final episode. These cartoons set up the storyline for just before Episode … Read more →

Walkovers

To my great relief, contrary to my last post, i did not miss the first of the Lenten talks. They actually start this coming week. However, i still must say that i did forget them because at that time i did believe that the talks started this past week.

Played indoor today as the trials for the start of the new season. Funnily enough, the team we played today was the same opposition that we played in the semi-finals two weeks ago, The Walkovers. We trounced them 6-1 this time, myself scoring two of the goals. The game actually got … Read more →

Forgetting

Lately I have found that i have been forgetting a lot of things, and it is really troubling me because i'm usually pretty good with things like that. Of the more recent ones, I totally forgot about the series of talks that started at Church on Tuesday night now that lent has started, and I also forgot about the Careers Fair that was at uni on Wednesday that I really wanted to attend because this was my last year at uni to attend one.

In the last few days I have researched and started on my HIST2609 (History of the … Read more →
