It’s my first day

Yesterday was my first day at uni. All i had was the INFS3200 lecture and the first COMP3804 group meeting since last semester. It's depressing having to get back into it.

Ah well, life must go on.… Read more →

Uni Starts :(

Today is the first day of semester 2 2004 at UQ. I really, really don't feel like going back. I don't actually have any uni on Mondays, so it isn't really my first day, although I am organising myself for this semester (i know i've left it a bit late), which is really depressing.

Had a good weekend though, which is probably why today is feeling even worse. Saw The Stepford Wives on the weekend, which i thought was a really crap movie. I didn't like it at all: the movie rarely seemed to expand on what i had seen … Read more →

1000 hits

It's kind of coincidental that this site has reached 1000 hits only a few days after the 1 year mark. Well, not really, because that 1000 hits is the site as lucascosti.com and not of the free telstra webspace before. And of course the 1000 hits are not necessarily 1000 different people. (i'm pretty sure that most of them are probably Andrew!)

Anywho, I'm starting Uni next week. Tonight and tomorrow i've got work. I should really check my timetable again and make sure that nothing has changed. I did notice before that there is a clash between the second … Read more →

New Intro: The Death of the Floppy Disk

Well, i've just uploaded my new intro. I wanted to do something different for it, mainly not having anything related to either myself or the site. Trying to think of what to do, i settled on the extinction of the floppy disk with the advent of the USB drive. (I drew the USB dude myself)

Dell and other computer manufacturers aren't including floppy drives by default in their computers any more, so I thought it was a relevant topic for a computer geek like me. Other possibilities were a soap opera parody among others.

I'm sure we have our own … Read more →

New intro in the works

I'm currently working on a new intro. It will be markedly different from the intros i've done before, and will be probably be the last one in a long time because i'm going back to uni next week.

Stay tuned over the next few days. … Read more →

New iPods

Today I thought I would be having a meeting with my COMP3804 group, but it turns out that it will be happening tomorrow.

Yesterday me, Despina, Eleni, and Con did the Queensland Cancer Fund doorknock in Carindale. Because there was four of us it only took us around an hour-and-a-half to do a section of Carindale.

Only a week to go till the semester starts. I haven't done that much 3804 work as yet, but probably will in the next week.

It seems that Apple will be unveiling their new iPod in the next few days. The iPod has been … Read more →

Graduation check: check

Yesterday i recieved an email from the EPSA faculty replying to my request for a graduation check. I was kinda surprised that they replied so quickly (well, not as quick as the Arts faculty). The reply from both Arts and EPSA confirmed that i am on the right track. I only have to complete the four subjects I am taking this coming semester, and 3 more in semester 1 next year and i walk out of UQ with two degrees in my pocket.

I'm a tiny bit tired after working from 7:15 this morning, and I also worked yesterday. I … Read more →

Semester 2 2004 Courses

I have chosen my courses that i will be doing next semester:

COMP3804 - Advanced Information Technology Project: I passed the exam, so it would be stupid of me not to continue with this year-long course. I think I only need 12% to ensure a passing grade, but I will be pushing for the 5 that my grade is capped at.

COMP2502 - Algorithms & Data Structures: Sounds fun doesn't it???(sarcasm) It's the last compulsory IT subject (other than COMP3804) that I have left to do, so that's why i'm doing it. Should be fun.

INFS3200 - Adanced Read more →

Experimental Film

Every now and then i really get into a song. In the last few days it has been 'Experimental Film' by They Might Be Giants. The video was launched on Homestarrunner.com a few days ago (it's done by them, which is cool). I've always been a fan of TMBG's type of music, my favourate of theirs till this date has been 'Doctor Worm', which was about 5 years ago. Gee that takes me back to year 11... Haven't heard much TMBG in the last few years though. TMBG and Homestarunner.com: a winning combination.

I've been doing a bit of work … Read more →

Happy 1st Birthday LucasNet/lucascosti.com!!

One year ago to this day, this site in all its crappy glory, was unleashed onto the internet.

'How did i remember?', i hear you ask? When i made the latest site updates i noticed on the News History page that the first date corresponding to the site launch was the 13/7/2003. One year later here we are.

I'd like to think that this site has come a long way since its humble and pov beginnings one year ago, especially since the migration over to 'proper' hosting in January of this year (screw the free Telstra webspaces!!!). Although i hardly … Read more →
