Feedly is My Choice as a Replacement for Google Reader
After the gnashing of teeth that greeted the news of Google's decision to close down Google Reader (effective in a few days), over the past few months I have tried out more than a few possible replacements.
I have been surprised by how many 'Reader replacements' have popped up or gained attention since the announcement. It definitely seems like Google had largely killed-off a market when they developed Reader, and now have almost single-handedly recreated it by shutting down their service.

I've recently started work at a place in the city which now requires me to do the commute back and forth on public transport. Previously I've either worked from home or drove to work, so catching the train twice every working day is a little new to me.
At the end of last year I replaced our aging Viewsonic 20" 16:10 1680x1050 monitor with a brand-spanking-new Dell U2312HM LED-LCD 23" 16:9 1920x1080 display. Part of the reason why I persisted with the old monitor for so long is that I am pretty picky with my monitors. Other than swivelling and height-adjustability (musts for me), the main thing that I was spoilt by was the built-in speakers; it is so convenient not to have to worry about turning on speakers separately, or having another thing to have to plug-in to power.
I've been wanting to write this for a while, and keep on forgetting.
So begins another year, and if you're counting, 2013 marks the beginning of my 10th (!) year maintaining this blog. Wow. I feel old, and marking another decade of existence next month isn't making me feel any younger!
I'm a big Google user; and by that, I don't just mean that I use their search engine.
In the past few days I have upgraded the trusty old Cannon with an SSD (Solid State Drive).
