Did my HIST2606 exam today, got my INFS3200 (Advanced Database Systems) exam tomorrow.

Today's exam has to be my most blas? attempt at an exam in my whole academic life. I had most-likely passed the course already (see yesterday's post), but as i approach the completion of my degrees I seem to be less and less motivated to do exams.

I would have chalked this kind of attitude up to almost have finished my degrees, but the thing is that I do still do take assignments seriously. I dunno, it's just something with me and exams, I tend to not … Read more →

Tomorrow is my first exam: HIST2606 (History of Warfare). I haven't really given much thought to this exam as i'm pretty sure that I have already, or only within a few percent of having passed this course. I got 32/40% for the major essay, 7/10% for the essay plan, and i'm pretty sure I would have gotten at least 10/20% for the tutorials including a presentation, (we haven't got the marks returned). The exam is only worth 30% of the course grade.

Understandably i tend to do really bad in the exams that i don't really have any motivation for … Read more →

Today the Mozilla Firefox web browser moved out of beta (pre-release) versions into a fully fledged publicly released version 1.0. It'll be a while before all the extensions and themes for the browser catch up with the 1.0 release, but i still highly reccommend people to use Firefox as their browser. There are many reasons to switch over, most of which i have mentioned in a previous blog entry. Try it out (it's only a small download) if you like it, use it, if not stay with Internet Explorer. Go here to download it.

The past few days … Read more →

Today in my plan was to be a whole day studying for my HIST2606 exam before i had to go to work at 5. After i woke up, had some breakfast and did some stuff, i got a message from Nick asking if I wanted to play Indoor Soccer for their team on a permanent basis starting from today. To be honest I'm not the biggest fan of indoor soccer (compared to futsal (another type of 'indoor' soccer)), but since i've stopped playing futsal (story as to why not included) i've really missed playing at least form of football (i.e. … Read more →

Went to the movies twice in the past 24 hours, both at the now extremely busy SouthBank Cinemas. Last night went and saw The Notebook, which I really enjoyed. I though it was a good movie, but I wouldn't recommend seeing it if you don't want to follow a storyline or if you're really tired because it would probably send you to sleep.

Today went and saw Hero with the guys from school. It was good seeing nearly everybody together, it's been a while.

On the movie, I wasn't really that impressed. Although the fight scenes and special effects … Read more →

Today the results from the overnight U.S. presidential election started coming. Aside from it being a major distraction away from study, it was also interesting. I would label myself leaning toward the political right (not by a whole lot though) but in American politics I can't stand the Republican party, but even more so, I can't stand George Dubya Bush.

At the moment it seems that it is very close, with the state of Ohio being the deciding state of the entire election this time. There it is a close race with Bush about 120000 … Read more →

Today begins my study for my exams. Yesterday I mainly planned out what I'm going to do over the next two weeks and where. After doing a little bit of study this morning, i decided to take a break.

A few days ago Lucasfilm released the teaser poster for Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (shown below).

In my opinion the teaser poster isn't that great. The ones from Episode I and Episode II were much better.

It seems that the teaser trailer as well is going to be released in the next week or so. Exciting stuff … Read more →

Yesterday I worked from 10-3, and after that came home did some stuff and then got ready and went to Church. As soon as the service finished, we ran out of there to go to Rhys's 21st Birthday. Before we went there we picked up Wil from his place, got a quick bite from maccas (ironic because he is quitting his job at maccas. Congrats to him!), and then got to the party at around 8:30ish.

The party was good, it was great to see some guys from school that I haven't really seen since school finished. Photos are in … Read more →

Yes, today was the last day of the project. Today was the post-implementation review, which was pretty much as the name describes it. So the year-long course is over, and I must now say at the end that it was a valuable experience. In the end, it was quite sad and a bit weird that i will not be seeing my group on a regular basis, i've felt that especially over the second semester we have really built up a team and worked really well together.

So here is my quick review of the course:

The first semester was definitely … Read more →

Just realised that I have blogged on each of the past 6 days. It's been a while since i've been so prolific blogging, so I thought i would make it a round 7 by doing another entry today, although I do not have much to talk about.

It seems that I am in holiday mode already (hence the extra time to do a lot of blog entries). This is the usual case with uni, as after i finish my last assignment I tend to slack off before exams. My excuse this time is that i've deserved a little time off … Read more →
