Day 4 of NaBloPoMo 2007

The day started off rather early with myself staying up late to watch the big Arsenal vs. Manchester United match. It was an entertaining game, it finishing 2-2, which overall was a fair result.

At midday was the big Grand Final for our indoor competition. We weren't playing the opposition that i feared that we would be, but we still expected a tough game. It was a tight game as well, it being level 2-2 at the break. I thought we gained the upper hand when I scored to make it 3-2, but some good … Read more →

Day 3 of NaBloPoMo 2007

I got a haircut this morning. It's so depressing seeing more and more of my olive-skinned scalp with every haircut. I'm really considering going for a full shave next time i go.

Anywho enough of the depressing stuff. I'm getting this entry out of the way now because I don't think i'll have time to do it tonight. There's Church as usual, and i think we may e heading to the Pancake Manor in the city for dinner afterwards.

Then after that it's the big Arsenal vs. Man Utd match tonight. Go the Gunners, hopefully … Read more →

Day 2 of NaBloPoMo 2007

As expected from yesterday, my package still didn't show up today. I contacted the store's support who basically said to wait another 2 weeks just in case it's stick in customs or anything. Not happy, but at least i've got this from Michael to tide me, lol:

Tonight was supposed to be a poker night, but because attendees were a little light, we ended up playing the Wii and watched Transformers on DVD instead. It's such an awesome movie, and barring any November/December surprises, it'll probably be my favourite movie of the year. … Read more →

Day 1 of NaBloPoMo 2007

^^ So it begins! it's going to be pretty tough to keep this one up this year but here it goes. Apologies in advance for short, poor-quality posts.

Today basically sucked. Work was crazy, but my biggest frustration of the past week has been waiting for The Orange Box that i've ordered to arrive.

Although they say the expected shipping time is 6-12 business days, all my previous orders have been delivered within a week as long as it had crossed a weekend.

This particular shipment was shipped on the 16th, so my calculations make … Read more →

On Friday night Des and I went to a trivia night the southside parish youth was putting on. I really enjoy trivia nights, but it's been frustrating going to them lately: for the last 3 trivia nights i've been to, the team i was for all three finished in second place.

Well, Friday night was a tight one: our team finished third, and missed out on winning it by half a mark, as two other teams were tied above us. A few of the questions and answers were dodgy (half marks? wtf), but overall it was thoroughly enjoyable. Plus there … Read more →

...and i'm not totally sure if i'll be able to make it through this one. I successfully made it through the inaugural NaBloPoMo last year, but i feel so much more busy this year so i think it will be much more of a challenge.

For the unaware, NaBloPoMo is National Blog Posting Month, where all participants have to post a blog entry for every single day in November. Andrew feebly tried to join me last year but didn't last the distance 😉

There is no cool Yoda seal for it this year, but i'll put the one they're … Read more →

It's been a funny sort of week: stuff happened but i'll be stuffed if i can remember much of it now!

Yesterday I spend most of the day implementing a PHP photo gallery for the Church's Bribie Island website that I had developed earlier this year. Now all it needs is some photos to put in it.

The highlight (or lowlight...) of the weekend was this morning's indoor game. Today was the last game before the finals, and it was us as the top team on the table playing the second-placed team. We had whooped them 15-0 earlier in the … Read more →

Another post of geekery.

Continuing on from the last entry on upcoming games, in the past few days there were two demo releases for two of the biggest release to happen in the next few months.

Firstly was the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare demo, which i had an absolutely torrid time trying to download off the Bigpond servers. Tipping the scales at 1.4GB for a demo, the download always got up to about 600MB and then stopped. After about 10 tries it did eventually come down, and now i've got about 12GB of unmetered usage racked up against … Read more →

As we approach the end of the year (is it really already???), another thing that is also approaching is an almost tidal wave wave of massive gaming titles. I'll call it 'The Game Wave'.

Starting really from this week and continuing well into next year is the continual release of some truly epic games that many have been looking forward to for years; and i'm only really taking into consideration games that i'll be purchasing for the PC and Wii; i almost feel sorry for the bank accounts for those who also own Playstation 3s and XBox 360s!

Anyway i'll … Read more →

No, the title is not a misspelling of my name. I'm over dramatising things a bit, but luck hasn't really gone my way over the past few days.

Yesterday afternoon was our indoor game and we knew it was going to be a tight one as we were playing the second-placed team (behind us) and they beat us last time. With a ten minutes left i scored what I thought was the winner to put us ahead 3-2, but we conceded a sloppy goal near the end. Then almost right before the end of the game, i jumped up for … Read more →
