Graduated from Jedi Academy

After 2 and a bit solid days of playing, i've finished Jedi Academy. My verdict: Graphics were good, the pick your own character and lightsaber(s) was pretty cool. The storyline was pretty garbage though. I wish they could think of better storylines, and maybe include real people acting cut-scenes like in Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight. I thought they were pretty cool, like the last three Wing Commanders.

If you didn't know, here is the ancestry of this line of games (not including add-on packs):

Star Wars: Dark Forces (1994??)
Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II (1998)
Star Wars: … Read more β†’

Installing RedHat

Just after i finish typing this entry i am going to install RedHat 9 on my laptop. I'm hoping i won't have to reinstall windows in the process. If you don't hear from me in a while you know why...

On the weekend i purchased some games. It really has been a long time (a year and a half really...) since i bought a game. I think i got a bargain: i went to EB at Carindale, and got Enter the Matrix and Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. A year ago both of those would be $200+, but … Read more β†’

Gysdintu Strikes Back!

I have completed a round of site updates. Of course the biggest thing is the new intro. Post comments about it here if you want.

Typing this out now i think i may have done this intro a bit prematurely, as i'm not sure whether i have passed the exam for COMP3804 yet, and may yet have to drop out of the course and re-enrol in it all over again. I hope not. We can find out our exam marks this coming Thursday, we actually have to go into uni and see them to get our marks(why???). They said they … Read more β†’

Finished!

So is the end of semester 1 2004, probably the fastest and blurriest of all my semesters as uni. I'm already busy making another action-packed intro and a few minor site updates before i get crackin' on my long list of 'to do-s' for my holidays. Stay tuned over the next few days for that. I hope everyone else has/is gone/going well their exams etc.

The exam yesterday went ok. Could've done better but i'm mostly sure that i at least passed. … Read more β†’

Home Stretch & Darn Cold

Just over 24 hours from now i would have completed semester 1 2004 and my 7th semester at university. I have tonnes planned to do this holidays, which doesn't even include having to work on COMP3804 throughout the break. I just made myself sad πŸ™

The last day or two has been really cold, and i am absolutely loving it. As most people know, i am quite a profuse sweater which is, needless to say, very uncomfortable. Therefore i am very happy in the colder times of the year. My rationale being that when you are cold this is easily … Read more β†’

2 down, 1 to go

The last two days have been sort of an anti-climax after the COMP3804 exam on Tuesday. Wednesday night i had my HIST2100 exam, which wasn't that surprising. I didn't really give too much thought to it as i had probably already passed the course. The questions on the exam weren't all that difficult anyway.

My only exam left is the HIST2702 (City in History) exam on Tuesday which is worth 60% of the course, so i better get into some serious study for that one, but it's not really happening at the moment.

Worked till 8:30 last night and it … Read more β†’

COMP3804 Exam

Yesterday we had the all important COMP3804 exam. The entertainment just keeps on coming with this course.
(All prepare for another bitch and moan about COMP3804!!).

Firstly, the exam was due to start at 2:30pm. They finally let us into the exam room at 2:50 for us to start the exam just after 3. Thats over half an hour (and a quarter of the exam) late.

And they are lecturing us about time management?? I felt sorry for the poor students that might have had another exam barely 20mins after they stepped out of this one.

Secondly, which doubly pissed … Read more β†’

Queen’s Birthday and Poor England

Today should have been the first day of the exam block, but instead it had to be the Queen's Birthday public holiday. My first exam is the dreaded COMP3804 tomorrow.

The Euro 2004 football tournament of course kicked off on the weekend, and last night was the first blockbuster match: France vs. England. Well the pommy's thought that on 90mins that they had won the game 1-0, an ealier missed David Beckham penalty now seemed irrelevant. With only 2 mins of stoppage time to play, France punch in 2 goals both by Zinedine Zidane (in my opinion the best player … Read more β†’

The Drive-In

Last night Despina and I went to the drive-in! If you aren't aware, the only drive-in in all of south-east Queensland is the one at Yatala (half way down to the Gold Coast). WE drove down there last night, and after having dinner at the McDonald's at the 'Service Centre' at Yatala (The really huge BP), we went to the drive-in to see a double screening of The Day After Tomorrow (which should be Monday. lol I'm so lame) and Stuck On You. The movies for the both of us were $11 all up because we used a voucher … Read more β†’

Studying Begins

In the last few days i have begun studying for my exams.

After finishing off my last assignment on the weekend, Monday was mainly spent on collecting and printing a lot of garbage just to make sure i have everything i need to actually study (lecture notes, tuts, etc.). That took the majority of the day which was longer than i expected.

Today i began proper study on COMP3804. The more study i seem to do, the more i am not looking forward to the exam. I guess it's mainly because i have nearly no idea what to expect. Hopefully … Read more β†’
