Time doesn’t heal all wounds

Now about ten weeks after breaking my foot, I went back to get X-Rays this morning to see if the break had healed. Unfortunately it hasn't: there is still the little piece of the base of my 5th metatarsal in my left foot floating around in there.

I will be going to the doctor on Friday to see what my options are, but in the meantime I still have to be wearing the spaceboot. What makes it even more frustrating is that the foot feels fine, I have no pain in it at all any more. I'm hoping I can … Read more β†’

Krazy Kazaa Ruling

Still extremely busy in my world. I am still currently wading through all the red-tape I have to get through to settle the unit me and Despina are buying, but that is all fun-and-games that doesn't really need to be mentioned here.

In the news recently, is the Australian Federal Court ruling that the record companies won their case against the makers of the file-sharing program, Kazaa (the case was in Australia because the makers of Kazaa are based here). This totally baffles me for a few reasons: A file sharing program like Kazaa has a wholly legitimate purpose to … Read more β†’

The Search is Over!

I haven't blogged in a week, but this time I think that I have good reason to. It has been a very busy and very strange week, but most predominantly of all, Despina and I have finally bought a place to live once we get married.

We eventually bought a unit in Morningside, after earlier making an offer for a place in Norman Park which we subsequently retracted. Of course all this house-hunting and offer making chewed up a lot of time, as nearly all of it was done outside of business hours. I am quite glad to have the … Read more β†’

Burninated Trivia and A-League FOOTBALL

I've had a semi-eventful weekend the past few days. As has been the pattern recently, on Saturday we spent almost the whole day looking for a place to live. I've got to say that it is really starting to wear thin.

After Church on Saturday night we went to a Trivia night that the CYB (Cypriot Youth of Brisbane) were hosting at Cyprus House (or the West End Club as it is now known). I really enjoyed it, except for our table (which Andrew and I autonomously named 'The Burninators') coming second by 3 points after leading the contest for … Read more β†’

I Cracked a Funny

Same old same old for the past few days.

I Have continued looking for properties, but i'm getting a little tired of it. So time consuming with pushy real-estate agents. Must push on!

Apparently Rolando has restored his computer from the Dell recovery CDs all by himself, so kudos to him. Let's see how long he can stay virus and spyware free this time.

I have encountered a few more amusing things recently:

Firstly:

How Blondes Print Word Documents

hehe. Secondly, Have you got Blog Depression?.

And thirdly, here's a dedication to all my readers. Just kidding of course. πŸ™‚… Read more β†’

Hunting of the houses & Viruses strike again

Yesterday we continued looking for houses, inspecting a lot and finding a few promising ones.

Me and Despina also went to a wedding yesterday and last night. I didn't really know the people getting married, so it was kind of strange. Rolando came along to the service to see the gist of the whole ceremony ahead my own wedding in just a few days under six months away. We went to the reception last night, but didn't stay through all of it as Despina hasn't been feeling too good over the last few days.

Thursday and Friday at work wasn't … Read more β†’

Bad Parenting, Holiday & More Better Learning

Of course today is the Ekka holiday. Some, like myself, are lucky to have it off. Others, like Despina, aren't so lucky. I still think that every second Wednesday should be a holiday: i think it would refresh everyone a whole lot more, and everybody would be a whole lot more productive (this is me dreaming of course).

I went with Wil to see Star Wars for one last time, as the Balmoral cinemas had an adults at kids prices special final screening of it. The movie is almost completely gone from cinemas, so I enjoyed watching it on the … Read more β†’

Where did that week go?

I know that I haven't really blogged lately. Shame on me in the blogging world.

This week has just vanished into thin air before my eyes. I really find it hard to believe that it is Friday already. I guess that I have just been so busy with everything lately. It seems of late that every weekend day there has been something on and something to do that I really haven't had a break to take a breath.
Also this past week me and Despina have started to look for a place to live for once we are married. Trying … Read more β†’

Poker & Internet Safety

I've noticed in the past few weeks that I have been very much enjoying watching the World Poker Tour. It was on Channel 10 (I think?) lately on Saturday nights, and is on Fox 8 on Friday nights. Although the show is just people playing poker, it is rated MA (restricted to people under 15 y.o.) for gambling. It's awesome watching them play and psych-out each other.

As has been usual of late, I have barely had any spare time in front of a computer. The last two days at work was also unusually hectic.

Friday was pretty busy. … Read more β†’

Love/Hate and Backups

I have come to realise over the past few days of work that I truly have a love/hate relationship with computers. At times they can be the best thing in the world to use for basically anything from word processing, the internet and email, to playing games.

But at other times they can be the most infuriatingly frustrating things on the face of the Earth. And that can be just using them. At work having to attend to some of the computer problems of the office is doubly frustrating.

I guess it's mainly because that most of the problems are … Read more β†’
