Day 6 of NaBloPoMo

Why are Mondays always bad? A few quite bloggable things made today another frustrating start to the working week.

I was looking forward to today though, because i was expecting my sunglasses that I had ordered last week to be delivered to me at work. Day 5 of NaBloPoMo

More on the latter part of the title a bit later.

Yesterday we've had something that we've hadn't had for a while: a good day of rain, and fortunately a good portion of it fell in the catchment areas for the dams. It's an event that has been so rare in recent history here that I actually brought out the camera took a picture of the downfall outside our balcony (right).

Does writing part of this entry a little bit before the actual day it is meant to be posted on, count as cheating under NaBloPoMo? Well, at least the first part of this entry was written before midnight.

Anywho, the reason why i'm posting this so early in the day is that I'm not sure whether i'll be able to make a post during the proper day/night before midnight. Talk about planning your life around a blog!

Day 3 of NaBloPoMo

Just got home from work and I have just commenced my attack on the computers. Friday night is usually when I try to get all the weekly computer-maintenance things out of the way. This includes doing anti-virus and spyware/adware scans, and doing backups among other things. I'm sure you guys all do that as well right? You don't?! Well, you really should, if not every week at the very least fortnightly or monthly. *steps off soapbox*

Day 2 of NaBloPoMo

Stupid me actually got up and watched the Arsenal Champions League game this morning. It was another terribly frustrating game in which Arsenal had so many clear cut chances (including two open goals), but just couldn't put the ball in the back of the net. The game ended 0-0, but Arsenal really should have won it by at least 3 goals.

This my the first entry for NaBloPoMo! In case you missed it, this month is NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month), which requires me to write at least one blog entry per day for entire month of November. Over the years, mainly out of sheer curiosity, i've had fleeting thoughts of placing some advertising on this blog. Although I know not that many people read the crap I write here, I'm extremely curious to see how much real revenue through advertising that this site could actually pull in.

Advertising on websites these days is mainly based on a per-click basis, with the advertiser paying a certain amount to those displaying or publishing the adverts only each time someone actually clicks through to their site. So ends another weekend. I did some geekness on Friday night till late (more blog code modification), and yesterday I did all the normal computer maintenance in the morning, while bludging for the rest of the day.

After Church last night we went to Lone Star at Springwood for dinner, which was surprising because we went there last week after Church, and even more surprising was that the person who suggested it received pretty bad service there last week.

I've often said that one of the main reasons why I keep a blog is for my own personal use. It is great to be able to look back and see what you were thinking and blogging about on the same day one, two, or even three years previously.

Hot on the heels of last week's IE7 release, today the next major version of Firefox (2.0) was officially released to the public. Get it from http://www.getfirefox.com.

Although there are a few very useful and logical updates and additions, I am a little underwhelmed by this new version. Don't get me wrong, Firefox is still my preferred browser by a long shot, but I guess i just don't see how the changes in 2.0 merit a step-up in the versions.
