Service pack 2 for Windows XP has just been released. Microsoft are only releasing this one via their Windows Update site and are not allowing anyone to mirror the service pack. My brother got it a few days ago, and me just now. I can just imagine the stress that the Microsoft servers will be undergoing throughout the next few weeks.

Today is one of my days off uni. I spent the morning updating and creating COMP3804 DB scripts, finishing off my HIST2606 essay outline that is due this week (in my opinion a huge waste of student's time), and printing out notes for tomorrows lectures. I worked from 4-8 which was really busy because 2 cashiers called in sick which left us really short handed for most of my shift. Got home finished the DB population script and am now typing this out (obviously).

I had a very busy, very hectic, weekend. On Saturday I started fully writing m HIST2606 essay, I want to get it out of the way quickly. Saturday night I ended up going down to the Gold Coast to attend the wedding reception of a woman that i have only met once before. I ended up getting home probably just after midnight.

I drove to uni today. I was really lucky, because i was the last to get through the lights on Hawthorne road, because further down the line at Wynnum Rd. there was a really bad accident which closed 3 of the 4 lanes. So they had 1 lane servicing both directions of traffic in peak hour. I took a detour at got to the Gabba via Stanely St. The unlucky people behind me would have to wait because each change of lights after that would only let one or two cars through.

For the past few days i've been trying to begin fully writing my HIST2606 essay, but i'm not doing really well. After doing some initial research over the weekend, i didn't have that much time on Saturday or Sunday to really get started on it. This morning was the COMP3804 client interview. We basically had to give in a list of questions we have about the program we are implementing at least 3 days before, and the client answers them for us. I seem to have made correct assumptions for the DB side of things, so not much needs to be changed for that.

In one of my other IT subjects, COMP2502 (algorithms and data structures), I am completely lost. I hardly seem to be understanding anything from this course. So far it is mostly complicated mathematics that i am not following at all. tutorials … Read more →

I'm sitting in the Library at uni typing this out.

After getting up at 6 this morning, leaving at 7:15 and sitting in traffic until getting to uni at 8:10, I attended another one of Kevin Gates (COMP2502 course coordinator) entralling Algorthims and Data Structures lecture (there's sarcasm for you!!).

I hate Thursdays, i'm in here till 3, and only really have a one hour break. At this time starting week 5 i will have another tute.

I'm trying to decide on what to do for my HIST2606 (history of warfare) essay. I've narrowed it down to two topics:

- In what sense was the First World War the first "modern" war?
or
- In what ways can the Second World War be considered a "total war"?

Both are appealing, and would be relatively easy to answer... I'm just not sure!

I've just finished the database scripts that a i had to do for the COMP3804 project. I spent nearly the whole weekend doing them (other then Church Saturday night and work last night). It took a bit longer than I expected, but i wanted to get them out of the way quickly so the programmers fully start implementing the program itself. However, it wasn't so much a chore as it sounds. If i had to choose what kind of uni work i had to do, it would be this stuff, so i sort of half enjoyed it.

Lat night me and Despina went shopping in the city once again. So after picking her up from work we went there. The main reason why i wanted to go to the city is that a few days ago, Roswell Season 1 came out on DVD. I absolutely loved this TV series that only lasted a short 3 seasons. When it came out come out in 1999, i was hooked.

After that we went home and watched the first episode (which I haven't seen for five years).
