Pirates, arrrr

I got through all the work i had to do (both uni and payed) for last week ok. I still have a lot of uni stuff to do for this week, and not too much payed work (only a Saturday morning shift). I'm looking forward to this weekend, both because it is Easter, and because i'm going to be taking time off from doing anything related to uni.

We got Pirates of the Carribean on dvd, at i watched a bit of it last night. I really love that movie. Good stuff. Also got Matrix Revolutions which I haven't had … Read more →

Demonstration

Today i did my first COMP3804 demonstration. I didn't get full marks, which i was a bit dissapointed in considering the effort i put into the working component, but there were a few minor oversights made by me which were ,ironically, partially caused by me being a bit too perfectionistic in the way i implemented the component. Ah well...

I worked yesterday, and i am working all day tomorrow (7:15-3:45) which, to be honest i am dreading, because of the length of the shift, and also because i have still got a tonne of uni work i have to get … Read more →

The start of the gauntlet

Here i am at uni, in the labs typing this one out. So begins a tough two weeks at uni before the break. At my last count, i have 6 assesment items due before next thursday (and thats not even counting all the seperate COMP3804 deliverables).

I came into uni yesterday to migrate my COMP3804 system to uni, which, other than the usual stupid things committed by me, turned out to be not the major pain i had expected it to. Nevertheless, i still hate having to come into uni on weekends.

Anywho, i'm looking forward to a planned weekend … Read more →

The Gysdintu Cup take 2

Well here is the corrected cup, but i think i'll still leave the mispelled one up as well for comedic value

Learninating all the people, who can't spell his name!!!!!!!!!!… Read more →

And the award goes to…

After much pressure from Tim, i have finally decided to reward his efforts of solving the Gysdintu mystery with a publicly awarded trophy. (I won't take too much credit as he did the image, and you can tell that by his misspelling if Gysdintu lol).

So here it is from the BrazenMonkey to the BrazenMonkey, the Gysditsu (sic) Cup!!

Well done... on a note about me (this is MY blog lol), i got my first COMP3804 deliverables back today and i got 1.15/1.25%. ooo high marks i know. I lost 0.05 because the marker misread my ER diagram. I would … Read more →

Executions executed

Stayed up till about 12:30 last night typing out my HIST2702 essay after getting home from a long day of uni and greek lessons at about 9:30. The newsgroups for uni seems to be stuffing up. Since uni started they keep seemongly randomly asking me to resend my user information, and now it often rejects it. When i went on this morning, most of the posts seem to have been deleted. I will at my WTF at this point.

I'm just about to go to uni and, after that i've got soccer tonight.

On another note, the council elections are … Read more →

Working weekend

Now that the weekend is almost over i can take a breath. It has seemed as though every spare minute i had I spent studying (and that includes Friday). Lets see what did i do... I researched, planned, and wrote my HIST2702(the city in history) essay (the one about public executions in 18th century london). I've done the create table scripts for my COMP3804(IT Project) Stage 1, and i've populated all but one of the tables with sample data. I also worked on Saturday.

So right now i'm very tired. Other than studying and work, i went to a Cypriot … Read more →

Buggery Busy

I have been very very busy and hence this is my first entry in quite a while. So many things to say!!

First of all, in the past week it was Despina's birthday. We threw a surprise dinner for her after Church on Saturday night. A few photos are now in the gallery, as well as some photos of some ducks that have been hovering around our pool the past few days.

I have been so busy with uni especially this last week, it is almost a crime to be doing so much study only in week 3.

Today i … Read more →

Custom resolutions

Spent the whole of last night trying to configure this computer to show a lower resolution than its native 1680x1050. Browsing websites at this resolution, you really notice the good quality designs (ones that show up well and legible at larger resolutions), and ones that could have been done better that are only really for viewing at a particular resolution or two.

I installed a program called Powerstrip that allows you to set custom resolutions, and tried setting it up for a res of 1248x780 (ie still keep the 16:10 ratio but have it more like a 1024x768 res like … Read more →

New Computer

Well, the new computer finally arrived yesterday (i think thats only a month and half late, see the blog entries around the start of Feb)

I'll going to be spending the next day or two setting it up, which might take a bit of time that would have been spent doing uni stuff. ah well

The screen has got a native resolution of 1680x1050, which is huge to say the least. Everything now is really small compared to the 1024x768 that i'm used to. Its also highlighted some crapness about my website. Although the tables still come out well, the … Read more →
