5 blog posts this year, which kinda reflects how busy it has felt. As the kids have grown, spare time spent on anything but relaxing or recovering is a premium!
2024 has been a pretty decent year. It's gone by so fast, I've barely been able to keep up, but it's felt like the most 'normal' year in quite a while.
Again, there's no 'List of Tweets' blog post this year, because I've largely moved off Twitter. Although Mastodon was promising for tech nerds, Bluesky has emerged in recent times as the successor for a lot of people (especially since the US election and the continuing oligarchy-ness of Elon).
Continuing with the format from last year's post:
Health stuff
This year has generally been great, health-wise. Although, I did have a herniated C6-C7 disk in March, which was a literal pain in the neck for over a Month.
Otherwise, if I make it through the next 10 hours ok (🙏🙏🙏), this calendar year will be the first year without a hospital admission since 2017! (not counting colonoscopies, which I had two of this year).
I'm very happy with that, so long may it continue! (but my expanding waistline, not as much).
Work stuff
I had a pretty successful year, work-wise. A few mostly-successful big projects were completed, and I had my first work-related travel in a long time. Although it was only to Sydney, it was my first time on a plane since 2016!
