Summer has truly arrived in the past week, almost every day has seen 30-plus degree weather, and also more than a few storms for the past few days.
I can't say I really like it, but the nights haven't been bad enough to resort to the air-con, so I probably can't complain too much.
A big event over the past week was me going into hospital on Monday to get a liver biopsy done. It's a result of my confusing relapse and symptoms that have reappeared over the past few months.
It wasn't a fun procedure, as it required me to be fully conscious so I could hold my breath as they fired a needle-gun into my liver from my side between my ribs to get tissue. They did that three times. I spend the next few days very sore recovering, but it seems to be coming good now.
The initial results from the pathology were good, as it showed my liver had no cirrhosis, fibrosis, or cancer, but of course that means they're still not sure on a proper diagnosis of the kind of auto-immune condition that is affecting me. There's lots more doctors appointments and investigations to be had, and as always all your prayers, thoughts, and well-wishes are appreciated.
This week also saw the arrival of our 2010 Christmas bauble (pictured). I'm not sure if i've mentioned it on here before, but we have this tradition of getting a new custom-painted bauble every year. It started off me buying them for Despina (with her name on it) when we were first going out, to now having both our names on them since we've been married.
I ordered this year's one online (we usually get them from Myer, but for some reason they hadn't set up their usual stand in the city store when I went there recently), but I think I underestimated the size of the one I ordered: it's positively huger than the ones from previous years!
