Went and saw X-Men 3 last night, and although I was very impressed with it, and without giving too much away, I felt robbed of any kind of closure from the trilogy.
Judging by the storyline and ending, it is pretty obvious that they are wanting to make more of these movies, but this being the closing chapter of the set trilogy and with no further movies planned at this point, I expected at least a significant bit of closure from the last of these 3 movies. Somewhat ironically enough, only the first X-Men movie was the only one out of the 3 that actually had a significant amount of closure to the storyline.
Don't get me wrong, it was a great movie with awesome effects, I just expected more from the ending of the storyline.
On Thursday night was the big Australia vs Greece football friendly. In-line with my expectations, the game largely failed to live up to the pre-game hype that was built up around it. Australia won 1-0 by a quite spectacular goal, but the rest of the match bordered on boredom. Australia are going to have to play a lot better than that if they are going to even have chance at the World Cup, and its easy to see why Greece failed to even qualify for the tournament, increasing the opinion that their triumph as European Champions two years ago was quite the fluke indeed.
Also, today I've changed a few subtle things in this blog this morning so let me know if anything looks really screwy.
