Welcome to the New Year everyone! New Year's for us was pretty interesting, we all went and had dinner at Amici's in Southbank before staying there to watch the fireworks.

It's the first time that I've actually been in Southbank itself to watch the fireworks. It was pretty good being so up close and personal, although the hyped 'laser' show was a little bit of a let-down.

Afterwards it turned out that my stomach didn't like the Amici's pizza I had for dinner: it was a Margarita pizza, but it was laden with oregano, and when I say laden, i really mean it was mostly oregano. I woke up at 5am New Year's Day with really bad stomach pains probably caused by the herb overdose; i was tasting oregano for the next 48 hours.

Anywho, that meant we spent New Year's Day mostly at home recovering. The past few days have been great just chilling out at home, watching movies both here and at the cinemas, and getting in some decent gaming time.

Most people have gone back to work today, but i've taken this all this week off. I haven't had a decent holiday since we got back from Europe in November 2008, so i thought i'd use some of my leave and have an extended Christmas break. I'm also expecting work to be pretty hectic in January/February, so i'd better take the leave while I can.
